AppBacked / Legal / Privacy
Privacy.
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated [date].
Who we are
This website is operated by [Legal entity name], [registered address], company number [number] ("AppBacked", "we"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].
What we collect
- Application details you send us: app store link, platform, revenue range, your biggest bottleneck, email or Telegram handle and any message.
- Business data you share during an application or a deal, such as store revenue reports and payout statements. This is mostly about your app and company, and may include personal data of the account holder.
- Public store data about the app you look up in the X-ray, calculator and App Store audit. Your browser fetches it directly from Apple's public App Store lookup service, which receives the app name or link you enter. We don't store these lookups.
- Basic technical data our hosting and content delivery providers log when you load a page, such as IP address and browser type, kept for security for a short period.
We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site. Fonts and code libraries are served from our own servers, so loading a page doesn't send your data to font or script providers.
Why we use it
- To review your application and prepare a growth plan (steps taken at your request before a contract).
- To run a signed agreement, including growth work, statements and payments (performance of a contract).
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud (legitimate interests).
- To meet legal, tax and anti-money-laundering obligations (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help us run AppBacked, such as hosting, email and e-signature providers, under contracts that limit their use of the data, and with authorities when the law requires it. We never sell personal data. Current providers: [list categories or names].
How long we keep it
Applications that don't lead to a deal: up to 12 months. Deal records: for the term plus the period required by tax and accounting law, currently [n] years.
International transfers
Where data leaves the European Economic Area, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, tell applicants and partners directly.
Draft. To be reviewed by counsel before launch.
